According to Rowena’s daughter, “We would like to say thank you to Frank and his team, they did a beautiful job installing the ramp and thank you to everyone who made this possible. This was such a smooth process from the first phone call to the day the ramp was set up. Because of this ramp, my mother can now get out of that awful nursing home and feel comfortable and safe again. She has been coming here on the weekends since the installation; the first day I brought her home, she lit up like a kid in a candy store. Soon she will be discharged from the nursing home.

I had called a local company to get a quote for a ramp. They said $8-10 thousand dollars and we were so discouraged, then she read that story in the Fairhaven Neighborhood news …what a relief! We will tell everybody we can about this program.” – Rowena is 89 years old.

“I am so thrilled with my new ramp and what it lets me do! I am now able to take a walk on a nice day and can put out a chair on the platform to enjoy this beautiful cooler weather.” Mary’s son added, “Thank you very much for the ramp. The guys did a great job, very professional, very clean, very neat. My Mom loves her newfound freedom! We appreciate it very much.” – Mary is 99 years old.

“It is perfect! Perfect. I can get to the ramp by myself which opens everything for me as far as transportation goes. I am more independent. I was surprised by how many people came to put the ramp in, there were quite a few. They did it quickly and I was very pleased. They had me try it out right then and originally there was a part at the end I couldn’t get over and they immediately fixed it for me.” – Janice is 66 years old.

Angelo, Agatina’s son, told us, “We recently had Buzzards Bay Area Habitat for Humanity install a wheelchair ramp at my parents’ home, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The quickness to install the ramp was critical as my mother had no other option into the home and the ramp has made it so much easier to get my mother in and out of her home, providing the accessibility she greatly needed. The team led by Ralph and Frank were professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient from start to finish. Their admirable service and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We feel blessed to have met BBAHFH, Frank, Ralph and the whole team.” – Agatina is 87 years old.
